My “Nem” My Rock – My Best Friend – My Beautiful Daughter We are here today on this very sad day, but we are here to celebrate Naomi’s life. All of us here today have known Naomi during her 26 years some longer than others. I would like to give a view of her life. Naomi Tamara Natasha was born 21st February 1983. She was our little miracle daughter, it was our first child, and that day has been with me and will remain with me for the rest of my life. Naomi was special she was Daddy’s little girl. As you can imagine there have been times and moments that stay with you over the years, her first steps and the look of surprise or was it fear on her face, First day at nursery first day at school all of those things stay with a parent for ever as she was growing up into the beautiful young lady, never having a bad word to say and if someone had done something wrong there was Naomi saying there is a reason for that it’s a cry for help and we shouldn’t be so hard on them. That’s the person she was she would always put others before herself. She enjoyed her early days, at St James infants with Mrs Christie then on to the Abbey School, then on Danetre School with Mrs French, then on to college. But while she was at the Abbey School she also joined the Church Choir here at holy Cross and the Vicar Keith Smalldon, were a great inspiration to Naomi, but they did have something else in common which they would discuss at great lengths Football & Manchester United. I believe that those people along with the love in the family helped shape Naomi into the person we all loved. Work started at Tesco where she could have I’m sure progressed along the management line but after a number of years as team leader, and then as cash officer working alongside her good friends Mo Turner, Ruth Howell, Sam, Andy, Nathan, and alongside her Mum and Brother Nathan and many more . She then come to join her Dad, and joined almost a family tradition at Ford Motor Company, where she has been since. (I would like on behalf of all the family thank Ford Andrew, Alan, Vic and the nurses& everyone for not only at this time but over the last two years for all the help and assistance, thank you for all the support you have given.) Over the years we have some fabulous memory’s and stories to tell great holidays wonderful Christmas’s birthdays and holidays to Cornwall (Sennen Cove, to Gwitian), the Pontins holidays when the family was younger. Holidays to Florida and Disneyland to see all the cartoon characters and she since been to some wonderful places with Richard their Honeymoon to Mexico, and later to the Maldives. But it was her love of West life, Take That & many others for many years Naomi & her mum and sometimes others would go off on their yearly pilgrimage to a west life concert and each year it would be better than the previous one, we all went off one year to Wembley to see the Final Tina Turner concert as we all loved her music and had a wonderful day out. Come out of the stadium and put the concert CD open the windows and have the Music full blast as we queue to get out of the car Park. Naomi other love was sport she was taking some golf lessons some three years ago, but due to events over the last two years with Lillie, Euan & Caden but I’m sure eventually she would have mastered the sport; because Naomi was very competitive at anything she put her mind too. As Richard sister (Leanne) only knows too well with their get together’s with “Singstar”they could never beat her. She loved to watch golf on the TV or going to courses like Wentworth, the belfry we use to go each May to see the PGA championship we use to have our lunch sitting down around the 10th green and watch our favourite players pass and then follow the last group to the finish. We went to the Belfry to see the Ryder cup and our hero on practice day Tiger Woods and she was so pleased that we took some photos of him only a few feet away. Naomi loved the Master most years she would spend the Sunday at home and we would see the final round to the end late Sunday night then I would take her home and it would be the same on the other Majors especessily if Tiger Woods was in the running to win, she just loved it, and became very knowlegably about the game too. And her other love was of her beloved Manchester United, she was also very proud and patriotic for all English teams, in any sport, but it was Cantona, Becham, and Ronaldo, we have had football team rivalry in the house it could get very heated at times, but all forgotten the next day. It didn’t matter who Ute were playing I would always be supporting the other side, as most of you know I support Manchester City, but she has won me over in the end getting me to agree to wear a Utd Shirt today, but she knew that I would do anything for her. Other than Sport,& her Family and Naomi loved Shopping and had a love for handbags, shoes, boots and then clothes, we use to joke with her when the sales were on she always manage to buy things that were very rarely in the sale. Naomi was also a great help to me, and staverton Park golf club, during my Captain’s year she was along with all the family, she would assist on competition days, and all the preparations before hand she always there to give here ideas and 110%. She also was aiming to continue with that help, Judith & Dec this year too, she enjoyed being at the club, out on the patio looking over the course being around some truly wonderful people who are and have been true friends to us all during this very difficult time. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about my golf clothing now I’ve lost my wall robe designer. We would like to thank everyone for all the messages, cards, telephone calls and visitors over the last two weeks or so, but most of all for attending here today thank you. On the 3rd May 2003 was a date that has stayed with me and will remain with me this was one of the proudest days of my life, it was the day I walked my daughter down the aisle of this church. The same church she was christened and confirmed in. She looked just like a princess. Going to meet her prince charming, I said in my speech that day to Richard she may be your wife, look after her but she is still our daughter she is priceless, I want to thank him now for doing that and being the best son in law anyone can wish for now and forever. I’ve lost my best friend, my Rock & my very special daughter, we as a family a very close family and we have a wonderful son in-law who has lost his wife, we have lost a daughter and Keith, Wayne and Nathan have lost a sister. But the world has lost a loving caring wonderful beautiful Young Lady. God Bless sleep tight we love you more than words can say. You’re in our hearts forever. Love you forever.xx
